Denver is a month behind. We’re called the Mile High City for a reason and it’s not the proclivity of our residents to fly planes and romp in the skies. Nope…we live at 5280′ up in the air so while most of you are experiencing true spring and all that it entails, we’re just starting to come around. Herbs are showing signs of green, the daffodils bloomed and my whatever tree (if the blooms aren’t pink as expected then I have no idea what it is!) is showing signs of buds.
I had hoped to get a picture from something in my garden yesterday to usher in spring today, Easter Sunday, but the skies were gray and I needed sun and today is more of the same. It’s not an Easter Lily but it is one of my favorite day lilies and while the photo might not be current, for me, it’s a reminder that this most exciting time of the year is coming. Rebirth, in my garden, in our souls and in our lives if we so choose…seems anything is possible when I see God’s hand bringing forth from that barren, cold soil something so beautiful. I can’t wait!
Whatever your celebration this spring…whether it be Easter, Passover or even just the welcoming of my most favorite season; I hope it’s happy for you and yours.
